           Amantine Brodeur is a reclusive literary alchemist and explorer of the mundane and ordinary. She revels in universes hidden within words. A lover of satire and the absurd, she embraces the surrealist irony of contemporary life in blank verse. A child of African and European cultural and artistic disciplines, Amantine Brodeur explores identity, dislocation and trauma through both the ritual and residue of feminity. Through the evocative voyeurism of a distinctly 'female gaze', Brodeur explores the articulation of all that remains inarticulate in being human, in being female and feminine, against an inherently masculine proscenium.

She hopes she explores language fearlessly in search of personae, denuding of standard conventions.
